■ Routinely benchmark and document existing case studies and solutions as a means of verifying what represents world class or best management practices.
■ Document operational adjustments, and changes to practices resulting from the lessons we learn.
Credible – We will use science-based, consistent methodology and standards-based / standardized reporting that supports verifiable, independent, objective, and collaborative decisions.
■ Develop solutions that are independently verified, defensible, and focused on objectives.
■ Meet stakeholder expectations, without over-committing and running the risk of capacity challenges or difficulties in meeting delivery dates or service level agreements.
Collaborative and Respectful – Members of industry, government, First Nations and other stakeholders are engaged and encouraged to collaborate in a respectful, fair and ethical manner.
Comprehensible – We will adopt, adapt and develop applications, tools and solutions that are easily understood by all stakeholders, and that reveal trends and significant findings, increasing public awareness and understanding of causal relationships.
Practical – We will adopt, adapt and develop SMART (Simple, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-bound) performance indicators and systems. Acknowledge that not everything can or should be monitored.
Quality Based – We will regularly conduct internal and external reviews to ensure our client obligations, and commitment to quality and excellence are being adhered to, and meet the spirit of their original purpose and intent.
Relevant – We will design frameworks, platforms and solutions that are responsive, address key policy and industry objectives, and support informed decision-making.
Incremental – We will purposefully design platforms that incrementally leverage and integrate “existing” technologies and infrastructure into fully collaborative, integrated and robust systems and solutions.
■ Utilize existing public and private sector technologies, open systems and data, wherever possible.
■ Avoid building new systems, or housing/storing data, unless absolutely necessary.
Responsibility and Accountability – Explorus is responsible and accountable for our existing obligations and commitments.
■ Robust – Design frameworks, platforms and solutions that are high-quality, durable, and continuously-improving.
■ Document and acknowledge deficiencies, incorporate continuous improvements, and communicate improvements.
Strategic – We will ensure our activities and solutions are focused on questions that need to be answered, and support decisions that need to be made. We will identify the key strategic pieces of data and information that are needed, where long-term results are required, and where spot results are needed.
■ Transparent – Ensure data is publicly available, and where possible provide public disclosure of results, methodologies and reports.
■ Provide easily accessible data and information at various levels of detail to the public and all stakeholders.
■ Openly explain issues and/or outcomes to our clients, the public and all stakeholders.
■ Cultivate a culture of openness and transparency. Rather than starting from a point where we choose what to share, we will start from a point where we choose what not to share.
