GeoConnections funds the WEHUB project

GeoConnections

March 15, 2012 – Calgary, Alberta

Recent financial support for the Water and Environmental Hub has been provided by GeoConnections, a national collaborative initiative led by Natural Resources Canada.  GeoConnections supports the integration and use of the Canadian Geospatial Data Infrastructure (CGDI), an on-line resource that improves the sharing, access and use of open geospatial information.

The primary goal of the project with GeoConnections will be to further expand the Water and Environmental Hub’s datasets and enhance its tools, features and capacity. This will allow decision-makers and users to easily find, share and enhance water and environmental data using classifications such as major watersheds, river basins, and provincial/territorial boundaries.
